ABCIC will adopt an integrated approach that carefully balances conservation imperatives with the sustainable production, product development and marketing of biodiversity products. ABCIC bridges this gap by blend- ing good scientific principles and concepts with practical application of technologies and interventions at the community level using efficient and flexible mechanisms. Through strategic alliances, collective action and capacity building, ABCIC empowers and equips African institutions and local communities to conserve and sustainably use biodiversity in order to improve their incomes thereby contributing to poverty alleviation.
